Gordon Gekko – Greed For The Good
The point is ladies and gentlemen that greed, for lack of a better word, is good.
He may be a fictional character, but Michael Douglass’s character Gordon Gekko, in the 1987 film Wall Street, had some powerful lines.
The above was one that struck a chord with me.
Is some element of greed a good thing? Is there a healthy motivation that can come from wanting more?
Or are you just setting yourself up to never being satisfied.
I’ve found that lusting over some material things has given me a kick and some drive to help me get things done.
Perhaps a little greed is ok when acknowledged as a productivity tool rather than the endless battle for seeking fulfilment in owning it all…
