Lesson 2 – How to Setup Google Analytics
What we’re going to cover
After this lesson you’ll have all the tracking essentials needed to become the master of your traffic.
This lesson will be a quick one.
We’re going to set you up with a Google Analytics account.
1. What is Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a mind blowingly powerful, completely free tool.
It’s used to track visitor activity on your site. (You’ll be getting a creepy amount of data!)
You’ll know what city in the world your visitors are from, whether they are using Chrome or Internet Explorer and if they’re using a smartphone and you’ll even know the brand and model.
More importantly, you’ll know what visitors are doing on your site, what pages are most popular and what pages are letting you down.
It’s important to note that ALL Google Analytics data is completely anonymous. Meaning you will never track personal data about a particular human being.
Your visitors privacy will never be compromised.
